Another still life with M&Ms, this time with softer more muted light (which creates less defined shadows). I was also experimenting with painting using my travel easel, which keeps the paper almost vertical. I found it to be much more awkward and less controlled than painting flat at a table. I also realized that since I had set up and drawn my still life in pencil while sitting at my desk that the viewpoint was different when I stood at my easel, so I had to keep jumping down to view the still life and then jumping up again to paint. Typical dorky beginner-still-life-painter problems!
